Step 1: Make Sclera
We start with the eyeball itself.First, we use polymer material to blend the sclera base color to make him closer to the white color of real eyes.Then we use precise molds to make sure it’s smooth and perfectly.To make the pupil sculpting easier and more precise, we use soft clay for the pupil base. Every little detail is perfected to make the sclera look as lifelike as possible.
Step 2: Sculpt Iris
If you look closely at your own eyes, you will notice that the iris is not just a layer of color, but also has a three-dimensional structure. To make a more vivid eye, we choose to hand carve the iris in the eye. After our carving, the eyeball no longer looks like a picture set inside the resin, but is more three-dimensional and full of life.
Step 3: Apply Color
The coloring of the iris is just as important as the sculpting, together they give the eye its soul.Our makeup artists all have 10 years of experience in capturing the color variations of the iris and painting them with precision.The coloring is completed by adding a deep pupil to the eye.
Step 4: Protective Coating
Finally we will put a pupil cover over the iris for protection of the drawn eye and also to round the eye.After this is done, we will cover the eye with a resin coating. This will make the eye shiny and reflective just like a real life eye. The coating is also cured using a UV light to improve its abrasion resistance.
